Course Abstract:

The purpose of this course is to ensure that psychologists in the State of Florida are fully aware of the ethical and legal privileges and constraints under which they are practicing by providing the opportunity for a comprehensive reading of the APA Code of Ethics and the statutes and rules governing the practice of psychology in Florida, while fulfilling the requirement that licensed psychologists in Florida complete each biennial renewal period three hours of continuing education on professional ethics and Florida Statutes and rules affecting the practice of psychology. Certain specific sections of the three source documents are included in this study guide, but it is not intended as a substitute for a complete reading of all three of them. The Florida Statutes Chapter 490 Psychological Services Act and Chapter 64B19 of the Florida Administrative Code are appended to the course study guide.
