Twenty (20) hours of continuing education are required in order to renew a license. Of the twenty hours, five (5) hours are allowed from home study if ASWB approved. Fifteen hours must be formal (live), and 1.5 hours in ethics for social work practice are required at each renewal.

Continuing education allows for the best possible standards for the social work profession. All licensees are required to complete continuing education as a condition of licensing.

Professional Development Resources maintains responsibility for all programs. ASWB Approval Period: 6/12/2000 – 6/12/2016. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.
