Carol A. Falender, PhD
About the Author
Carol A. Falender, PhD, is adjunct professor at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California, and clinical professor in the Department of Psychology, University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Falender has served as President of the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 37 (Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice), communications officer for the Supervision and Training Section of Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology), chair of the California Psychological Association (CPA) Division of Education and Training, and chair of continuing education for the CPA. She directed APA-accredited internships at community mental health centers for more than 20 years. She received the Outstanding Supervisor of the Year award from the CPA Division of Education and Training and the Silver Psi Award from the CPA for outstanding service. She provides training and workshops internationally on the subject of clinical supervision and contributes scholarship in this clinical specialty area. Dr. Falender’s publications include Clinical Supervision: A Competency-Based Approach.
