Karin Kratina, PhD, RD, LD/N
About the Author
Karin Kratina, PhD, RD, LD/N, is a nutrition therapist, speaker and writer who has specialized in helping those with eating problems since 1983. She has written numerous professional books, book chapters and articles. In fact, she has been invited to present at all the major eating disorder conferences numerous times.
Her education includes:
BS in nutrition, St. Mary’s Dominican College, New Orleans
MA in exercise physiology, University of Florida
Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies, University of Florida
PhD in cognitive anthropology, University of Florida
Additionally she is trained in Somatic Experiencing (Level Two) and is a certified Enneagram teacher. Her PhD research analyzed unconscious thinking and how that thinking influenced eating and weight struggles. Her focus was on “decoding” these struggles to reveal what was going on at the unconscious level. This exciting research has strongly influenced her approach to eating and weight issues.
