Marsha M. Linehan, PhD
About the Author
Marsha M. Linehan, PhD, is professor of psychology and adjunct professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. She is also director of the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics, federally funded research projects evaluating the efficacy of treatments for suicidal behavior, substance abuse, and borderline personality disorder. Dr. Linehan received her Ph.D. in 1971 from Loyola University of Chicago. She has been on the board of directors of the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy, on the editorial boards of several journals, and has published numerous articles on suicidal behaviors, drug abuse, behavior therapy, and behavioral assessment. She has also written two books on treatment of borderline personality disorder.
