Psychologists

Idaho State Board of Psychologist Examiners  
CE Required: 20 hours per year 
Online CE Allowed: 10 hours online
License Expiration: DOB, annually 
National Accreditation Accepted: APA
Notes: 4 hrs ethics, standards of care or laws required every 3 years

Counselors

Idaho Licensing Board of Professional Counselors & MFTs 
CE Required: 40 hours per year 
Online CE Allowed: 40 hours 
License Expiration: DOB / DOI, annually 
National Accreditation Accepted: NBCC, APA
Notes: 6 hrs ethics required each renewal; Every person holding an Idaho license as a Professional Counselor, Clinical Professional Counselor, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Marriage and Family Therapist must complete in each twenty-four month period preceding the renewal of a license, forty (40) contact hours of continuing education.

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)

Idaho Speech, Hearing & Communication Services Licensure Board 
CE Required: 30 hours in the three (3) years prior to their license expiration date.
Online CE Allowed: 30
License Expiration: DOB, annually 
National Accreditation Accepted: Must be Board Approved. Note: PDR is not an Idaho Speech, Hearing & Communication Services Licensure Board approved provider.
NotesEffective January 1, 2021, each licensee will be required to successfully complete, in the three (3) years prior to their license expiration date, a minimum of thirty (30) contact hours of continuing education.  For more information, see Rule 400.

Social Workers

Idaho Board of Social Work Examiners 
CE Required: 20 hours per year 
Online CE Allowed: No limit if posttest (Category I) 
License Expiration: DOB, annually 
National Accreditation Accepted: Continuing education hours may be obtained by participating in activities sponsored by or approved by professional associations including but not limited to the Idaho Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, Idaho Society for Clinical Social Workers. The professional association must certify the number of clock hours of educational content in each sponsored or approved activity. (3-20-20)T Note: PDR is an ASWB accredited provider. 
Notes: 1 hr professional ethics required each renewal; Rule 351.02.a states that internet based courses, and correspondence courses may be substituted for face-to-face contact if the course is interactive or requires an examination. (CAT. I) PDR does require an examination and course evaluation.

The Idaho State Department of Education certifies school psychologists. Continuing Education Requirements: Requires 6 semester credit hours every 5 years. May satisfy 3 of the 6 semester hours through inservice professional development (15 inservice hours = 1 semester credit hour).
