Psychologists

Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists 
CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years
Online CE Allowed: No limit
License Expiration: 4/30, annually (CE due even years)
National Accreditation Accepted: APA 
Notes: 3 hrs ethics, 20 hrs in area of practice; 3 hrs supervision if applicable

Counselors

Maine Board of Counseling Professionals Licensure
CE Required: 55 hours every 2 years (15 hours may consist of peer consultation) 
Online CE Allowed: No limit
License Expiration: DOI, every 2 years 
National Accreditation Accepted: To be approved, objectives must directly relate to counseling theory 
Notes: 4 hrs ethics required each renewal, No yoga/CAM courses allowed; Continuing education credit may not be claimed more than once for completing the same prerecorded program, home study, or online, internet or other distance learning program.

Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure 
CE Required: 25 hours every 2 years
Online CE Allowed: 10 hours (if non-interactive); CE credit only once for a particular audiotape/disk, videotape/disk or course of independent study. Continuing professional education credit may not be claimed for a course of independent study that is substantially similar to a course that the licensee has previously taken for credit.
License Expiration: DOI, every 2 years 
National Accreditation Accepted: No blanket approval for home study
Notes: 4 hours SW ethics required each renewal, Conditionally licensed SW also need 6 hours psychosocial assessment
