Maryland continuing education (CE) requirements:

Psychologists

Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists 

CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years 
Online CE Allowed: 20 hours (independent study - must have posttest and certificate)
License Expiration: 3/31, every 2 years (even/odd license numbers due even/odd years) 
National Accreditation Accepted: APA 
Notes: 3 hours in ethics, laws, or risk management & 3 hours in cultural diversity due each renewal. If licensee holds a supervisory position - 3 hours in clinical supervision also required.

Maryland Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists 
CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years
Online CE Allowed: 10 hours (distance learning Category B) 
License Expiration: 12/31, every 2 years

Notes: Min 30 hrs Cat A; Max 10 hrs Cat B

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)

Social Workers

Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years 
Online CE Allowed: 20 hours (Cat II) 
License Expiration: 10/31, every 2 years
National Accreditation Accepted: ASWB
Notes: Min 20 hrs Cat 1 (live); 3 hrs ethics required each renewal (Category I or II if from an ASWB approved sponsor.); New CE requirement taking effect October 31, 2024: 3 of the required CAT 1 (live) CE units shall have an "anti-opressive social work practice content focusing on race, culture, or equity, and include one or more of (i) cultural humility, (ii) social justice, (iii) racial equity, (iv) implicit bias, or (v) anti-racism practices." Note: PDR's course on cultural competence will NOT meet this requirement

National Accreditation Accepted: AOTA - Professional Development Resources is an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) approved provider of continuing education (#3159).
Notes: 16 hrs must relate to OT principles & procedures / 8 hrs allowed from OT role-related activities
