Maryland continuing education (CE) requirements:

Psychologists

Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists 
CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years 
Online CE Allowed: 20 hours (independent study - must have posttest and certificate)
License Expiration: 3/31, every 2 years (even/odd license numbers due even/odd years) 
National Accreditation Accepted: APA 
Notes: 3 hours in ethics, laws, or risk management & 3 hours in cultural diversity due each renewal. If licensee holds a supervisory position - 3 hours in clinical supervision also required.

Notes: Min 30 hrs Cat A; Max 10 hrs Cat B

Social Workers

Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years 
Online CE Allowed: 20 hours (Cat II) 
License Expiration: 10/31, every 2 years
National Accreditation Accepted: ASWB
Notes: Min 20 hrs Cat 1 (live); 3 hrs ethics required each renewal (Category I or II if from an ASWB approved sponsor.)

Under usual circumstances, the date for license renewal would have closed on October 31, 2020; however, pursuant to Governor Hogan's Executive Order of March 12, 2020, the Board extended the expiration date "to the 30th day after the date by which the State of Emergency is terminated and the catastrophic health emergency is rescinded."

At this time, there are no changes in the number of Continuing Education Units required for renewal or in the period in which they are due for renewal. For example: if you have renewed your license by October 31, 2020, the period to earn Continuing Educations Units for your next renewal cycle is November 01, 2020 – October 31, 2022. If you renew your license after October 31, 2020 during the State of Emergency, the period to earn your Continuing Education Units for your next renewal cycle is November 01, 2020 – October 31, 2022

To receive credit for Category I Trainings, the webinar must be live, real-time, and interactive, and designated Category I on the certificate.

Occupational Therapists (OTs)

Maryland Board of OT Practice
CE Required: 24 CCRs (hours) every 2 years
Online CE Allowed: No limit
License Expiration: 6/30, every 2 years (even/odd original license year renew even/odd years) 
National Accreditation Accepted: AOTA - Professional Development Resources is an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) approved provider of continuing education (#3159).
Notes: 16 hrs must relate to OT principles & procedures / 8 hrs allowed from OT role-related activities
