License Expiration: DOI, every 2 years 
National Accreditation Accepted: APA (Professional Development Resources is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.)

Counselors

Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy 
CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years 
Online CE Allowed: 10 hours "Home study activities related to professional counseling that have an independently graded test component with no more than one-fourth of the required 40 continuing education hours earned by this method;"
License Expiration: DOI, every 2 years 
National Accreditation Accepted: NBCC

National Accreditation Accepted: ASHA approval accepted, but not required
Notes: 20 hrs must directly relate to area of licensure

OT Renewal - February 2018 UPDATE
The December 1, 2017 renewal notice letters you received has incorrect information. A NEW UPDATED Renewal letter was mailed with the date of 12/6/2017. Please follow the instructions on the December 6, 2017 letter to begin the renewal process. We apologize for the confusion. 

In order to continue to renew licenses on time as the number of OT licensees grows, MDH is creating a new renewal cycle. Some OTs renewing January 2018 are being shifted to a renewal cycle that will end October 31, 2019. If you were assigned to the group whose cycle is shifting, your license fee and CE hours will be adjusted to cover the shorter period.

Marriage & Family Therapists (MFTs)

Minnesota Board of MFT 
CE Required: 40 hours every 2 years 
Online CE Allowed: 7.5 hours (1/4) must have posttest 
License Expiration: 12/31, annually (CE due odd years) 
National Accreditation Accepted: Must be board approved 
Date of Info: 12/20/2017
Notes: LMFTs must also now complete 3 hours of Board-approved CE in “ethical and professional studies education covering professional ethics, family law, professional socialization, professional organizations, legal issues, or interprofessional cooperation.” Effective January 1st, 2018.

Dietitians & Nutritionists (RDNs)
