Who we are
Professional Development Resources (https://www.pdresources.org/) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 by Leo Christie, PhD, for the sole purpose of providing accredited continuing education courses for healthcare professionals. What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you place an order with us, we collect your name, email address, billing and mailing addresses, and professional licensure information. This information is used to create your secure account on our website, where you will be able to complete continuing education (CE) courses and earn certificates of completion.
Credit card information is used only to process your order and is not visible to us or stored by us. We use Stripe Checkout as our payment processor. Contact form
When you contact us, we receive your name, email address, and your message/comments. This information is only available to office staff and is deleted once we have responded to you. We do not use this information for marketing or any other purpose.
SMS messaging (texting)
We are working on adding SMS messaging to our forms of contact so that you can text us with questions, or if an issue arises. SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates. We will only message you if you text us first.
Privacy & data retention
Professional Development Resources is the sole owner of the information collected on www.pdresources.org. We are committed to keeping your information completely private. We ensure the security of tests and proprietary information, and the confidentiality of individuals and organizations. We will not knowingly release any of your information for any purpose, unless required by the accrediting body for the profession you specify in the registration process (i.e., we report course completions to CE Broker and ASHA). We are required by our accrediting bodies to keep your course completion data on file for a minimum of seven years.
Our entire website is secured, which you can verify by finding the small padlock or key on your browser bar. Also, you will notice in the address bar that our website address shows https, the “s” indicating a secure site. You can click on the padlock image for details.
IP addresses
IP addresses are recorded in our website log files. The log files are analyzed periodically to help us determine how many visitors we served and what pages were viewed the most on our site. Your IP address only indicates where you connected; it does not tell us who you are.
Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of text that is placed on your computer’s hard drive. Only the server (website) that places the cookies can read them. The www.pdresources.org shopping area will use cookies to keep track of your shopping cart as you move from page to page.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
