Florida MHC/CSW/MFT Continuing Education (CE) Requirements:
Florida-licensed Mental Health Counselors (MHCs), Clinical Social Workers (CSWs), and Marriage & Family Therapists (MFTs) are required to earn 30 hours of continuing education (CE) each renewal period (every 2 years).
License Expiration: 3/31, odd years
Online CE Allowed: No limit
Of the 30 Hours Required for License Renewal:
- 2 hours must be on Preventing Medical Errors (each renewal)
- 3 hours on Ethics & Boundaries in Psychotherapy – or – 3 hours in Teletherapy (required alternately each renewal)
- 2 hours in Domestic Violence (required every third renewal)
- 3 hours in Florida Laws and Rules (required every third renewal)
- 4 hours Qualified Supervision Training (required every third renewal for Qualified Supervisors only)
Florida mental health professionals can earn all 30 hours for renewal through online courses offered @ PDR.
