Florida School Psychologist Continuing Education (CE) Requirements:
Florida School Psychologists are required to earn 30 hours of continuing education (CE) each renewal period (every 2 years).
License Renewal: 11/30, odd years
Of the 30 Hours Required for Florida School Psychologist License Renewal:
- 2 hours on Preventing Medical Errors are required each renewal
- 2 hours on Domestic Violence are required every third renewal
- Online CE Allowed: No limit if APA-sponsored
First Renewal?
- School Psychologists renewing a license for the first time and were licensed in the first year of the biennium must complete a total of 15 CE hours. Included in the 15 must be 2 hours of Medical Errors.
- If you are renewing your license for the first time and you were licensed in the second year of the biennium you only have to complete 2 hours of Medical Errors.
CE Broker
The Department of Health will now verify continuing education records in the electronic tracking system (CE Broker) at the time of license renewal.
PDR reports all course completions to CE Broker with 2 business days (usually next business day).
